ive been at the office since 730 and im the only one on my 'team' who is here working as of 245pm. both my bosses are gone, all my colleagues are gone for the long weekend. Im the only one here and it sucks..especially with the sun outside :(

Im with ya as of 2pm my department cleared out and ill be here until 7 getting my monthly reports out because air canada decided i didnt need to get home from vegas for another day making me miss a day i needed to get my work done. grr

I was in Vegas for EDC last weekend supposed to come home monday but spent it in the airport, then that night in a crappy hotel they put us up in (Aria in vegas is fanstastic BTW) and more delays on tuesday i was supposed to have to have the day to recover after 3 nights of insanity. No worries ill be doing Canada day proper just gotta git'r done today to make up for missed work time. then its beer o'clock

All i have to say is just thinking about it now i got chills. It was the most incredible experience in my entire life. Think Veld or Digital Dreams X4 with bigger fireworks than any Canada day or 4th of July in the world, more crazy costumes from the performance artists walking around the Las Vegas speedway (attendees included my girlfriend spent hours making her outfits and i bought a few wild things to wear) and the biggest most elaborate stages, interactive art work and performances I have ever seen in my life.

I need to go again you can't see it all in 3 days. And the fact they have shuttle busses to get the 150,000 people to and from the strip each day worked out great. Only hitch was air canada making us miss our flight down forcing an impromptu road trip from LA in a rental RAV4 (totally gutless but comfy)and the hell they put us through on the way home. Everyone who likes EDM has to see EDVLV its incredible.

i partied hard for about 6 yrs...did Bal en blanc and Beach Club alot..ive heard EDC is a absolute unique gig...plus i went to Escapade here in Ottawa.

Those are all great fun no doubt but yep EDC was unlike anything else in the world and from what I have heard even the other EDCs like Orlando and NYC just don't capture the same effect.

The nice part about things like Escapade are you actually get to see almost all the acts you want because there are fewer stages. I had to make some tough choices because there were 8 stages and pushing through so many people and the sheer distance was very difficult to navigate and some acts I love are on at the exact same times. Met a lot of fellow Canadians down there too. I think from now on I'll save my money on going to lots of smaller events and just go to mecca

haha yeahhhh the douchebros in their G35's are hard to avoid when there's only 2-3 stages. At EDC they had 2 dubstep/heavy bass stages that we avoided so we only ran into mostly respectful and fun kandi kids (which i know in canada is lame but going to where it really took off we met some cool people that way). The thrasher hardcore people had their space and the rest of us had ours plus its so hot people gave each other more room.

Funny thing about the drive from LA that the G35 post yesterday reminded me of is the guy blasting dubstep in his G35 coupe doing at least 90MPH in the right lane swerving between cars and the semi trucks doing 55mph nearly crashing many times with his middle finger in the air and his "pull me over EDC banner in the rear window" i was afraid everyone would be total assholes but with that much room there's lots of cool people there and room to avoid the bad ones.

Very cool I was in Vegas with my wife and daughter last year when EDC was in town. It made me feel old but the kids in for EDC looked like they were having a ball.
